Dan was born into a musical family. Dad Charlie was a singer, song writer and guitar player. Dan started learning guitar chords at age 5 and by age 10 was playing and singing for his family.  In his teens he was performing with a 4 piece band in school talent shows and private parties.

 

Dan joined the Air Force in 1982, and for the next 11 years he played guitar in bands all over the world, in places like Goldsboro, NC; Thumbrait, Oman; Al Kharj, Saudi Arabia; Anchorage, Alaska and Palmdale, California.  In the Air Force he competed in Tops in Blue, the Air Force version of American idol.

 

From 1993 on, he started writing, arranging and recording his own music and performing in the studio as a hired gun. He has performed with Gold Standard, The Bezaors, Teasing Weasel, Gypsy Queen and now Nasty Weather.

 

His influences include Eric Clapton, Carlos Santana, Jimi Hendrix,  David Gilmour, Rick Derringer, Ace Frehley, Peter Frampton and Ted Nugent
